  • Serving as liaisons among governing boards, medical staff, and department heads
  • Recruit, hire and evaluate nurses, doctors, and assistant administrators
  • Organize, direct, control, and coordinate services as set forth by the hospital board

Requirements for Hospital Administrator

  • Bachelor’s degree;  Advanced degree in health care administration which could include one of the following:  MHA, MBA in Health Administration, MSHA, MPH in Health Administration
  • 7+ years’ relevant experience (small hospital)
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience (medium to large hospital)
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of accomplishment leading a comprehensive clinical healthcare operation
  • A strong understanding of physical plant operations including maintenance and operations
  • Experienced in community outreach and promoting volunteerism and giving
  • Strong financial acumen in budgetary leadership
  • The ability to appropriately delegate responsibilities and lead a subordinate leadership team
  • The ability to connect at all levels, from board of directors to clinical technicians
