typical roles and responsibilities for Clinical Operations Manager

  • Hire, train and supervise clinic staff, including medical staff as well as receptionists to medical billers
  • Develop reports of income and expenditure, prepare bank deposits and ensure clinic accounts run smoothly
  • Oversee purchasing
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance
  • Handle daily clinic operation management – staffing, medical waste, scheduling, billing, registration, front office and back office functions
  • Establish and implement office policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and ethics
  • Manage equipment, supplies and vendor relationships
  • Handle performance review of all support staff
  • Identify, recommend, and implement practice needs: staffing, services, equipment and facilities

Requirements for Clinical Operations Manage

  • RN license in the state of practice.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in medical clinic practice management, accounting, data and administrative processes and principles, human resource management, medical coding, medical issues and terminology
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations and state and federal laws
  • Computer skills and high competence with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Managed care experience a plus
  • Adaptable and able to function in a fast-paced, highly fluid startup environment
  • Strong communication skills with proven track record of success working with cross-functional teams
