Sr. Designer for Baby Girls/Boys Apparel

An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children’s apparel in NYC is looking to fill Sr. Designer position. This person will work with boy and girl newborn-infant branded and generic baby line, contributing to all stages of the design process, from concept creation to final production.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design team to create innovative and trend-setting designs for baby and children’s clothing, ensuring they align with our brand’s vision and aesthetic.
• Assist in conducting market research to identify key silhouettes, colors, and fabric specific to our customers.
• Contribute fresh ideas based on market research.
• Create detailed CADS, adjust art, update bodies, effectively communicate design concepts to the production team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including spec team and production, to ensure the timely and accurate execution of deadlines.
• Support sales/merchandising with preparing market presentations.
• Work on tech packs and final art when asked.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Previous experience in a design role working with baby and children’s clothing.
• Strong portfolio showing your design skills.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabric, and color.
• Knowledge of current fashion trends and a keen eye for color, pattern, and detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Past experience in art manipulation and creation.
