Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to our clients team. As a PMHNP, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals in an inpatient setting in the Vancouver, WA area. Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to establish accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans

  • Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications, following evidence-based guidelines and considering patients’ unique needs and preferences

  • Utilize clinical assessment skills and therapeutic techniques to provide counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for patients

  • Monitor patients’ progress regularly, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing follow-up care to optimize treatment outcomes

  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for management of symptoms

  • Document all clinical assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements

  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in psychiatric nursing, attending relevant conferences and engaging in continuous professional development activities

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program

  • Current, unrestricted license as a registered nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in WA

  • National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a PMHNP, preferably in an inpatient setting

  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders across the lifespan

  • Proficient in conducting psychiatric assessments, differential diagnoses, and appropriate treatment planning

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting and therapeutic relationships with patients and their families

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and experience with documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
