The Panel Shop Technician’s primary function is to assemble, install, troubleshoot and repair marine electro-hydraulic controls systems and installations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as may be deemed necessary from time to time.

 

1.) Plan and perform a variety of assembly, testing and adjustments on panel assembly and test fixtures

2.) Assist and guide the layout, install, adjustment and repair of automation-based systems

3.) Perform basic troubleshooting of automated electro-mechanical systems.

4.) Perform I/O checks. Apply all safety practices and procedures of the trade and company standards.

5.) Assemble and install marine electro-hydraulic equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met.

6.) Order and monitor supply levels for the machine shop.

7.) Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.

8). Provide technical support to customers over the telephone, addressing and resolving questions and problems.

9.) Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution.

10.). Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.

11.) Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry

12.) Ability to interface with customers effectively (phone / email) in technical support situations.

 

Qualifications

 

1.) Associates degree or relevant experience.

2.) Basic wiring and industrial panel assembly skills.

3.) Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, electronics schematics, and other equipment repair manuals.

4.) Basic knowledge of industrial automation or electro-mechanical systems,
