POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the product roadmap to address our customers’ present and future needs and managing the life cycle of company products. To do this, the candidate must be able to gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, define the product vision, and work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and technical support to ensure revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals are met. A Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the existing or new product roadmap based on a strategic vision.
  • Research and develop product performance, cost, and price requirements.
  • Assist in defining and implementing sales and marketing strategies for new and existing product lines
  • Design, develop, and maintain product literature to support new and existing sales and service activities
  • Act as a Scrum Master in a hardware environment. Including organizing daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure these events are productive and stay focused on achieving biweekly goals.
  • Identify and remove any obstacles or barriers that could slow progress. Lead through service, making certain the team has the required tools, resources, and assistance to deliver high-quality products.
  • Create and monitor the critical path within the product roadmap to achieve product release, facilitate a risk management plan, and establish mitigation strategies to avoid delays.
  • Track the team’s progress and provide visibility into project status, such as sprint progress, velocity, and burndown charts. Assist the team in recognizing and handling any difficulties or potential problems that may impact product delivery.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of competitive products and evaluate new technologies to determine their impact on the marketplace
  • Create written competitive product comparisons that support sales and marketing activities
  • Provide in-depth product training for sales and marketing staff
  • Provide technical support for sales, customer service, operations, and service
  • Lead beta test programs
  • Meet and interact with customers to support sales activities and research new product development opportunities.
  • Attend tradeshows and meetings as required to support business activities.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by the Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in an Engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years of industry-related sales, service, or marketing experience
  • Must possess strong project management or scrum experience
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be capable of effectively communicating to all levels of the organization and with customers
  • Must possess a strong customer satisfaction orientation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSME with a concentration in HVAC
  • Experience in designing or servicing control systems for industrial HVAC
  • Experience providing in-depth technical support for instrumentation in a related field
  • Experience with flow measurement instrumentation
