Job Title: Animal Facility Compliance Manager
Department: Operations
Location: Immokalee, FL 
 
Job Overview:
 
The Animal Facility Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and adherence to regulatory standards at our In Vivo Primate Quarantine and Breeding Facility. This role involves SOP management, quality control, inspections, regulatory agency interactions, IACUC oversight, protocol review, training, compliance monitoring, and collaboration with research teams.
 
Responsibilities:
– SOP Management:
  – Review, update, and maintain SOPs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  – Develop new SOPs as needed for emerging compliance requirements.
– Quality Control:
  – Monitor and enforce SOP adherence through regular assessments.
  – Rectify deviations from established procedures.
– Inspections:
  – Conduct quarterly and semi-annual full inspections, reporting findings and corrective actions.
– Regulatory Agency Interactions:
  – Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agency representatives during site inspections.
  – Coordinate and lead tours for regulatory and sponsor representatives.
– Collaboration:
  – Ensure animal care and research align with regulatory standards.
  – Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance matters.
– Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
– Assist in budget management for compliance activities.
– Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and sponsors.
– Investigate and resolve compliance-related incidents.
– Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
– IACUC Oversight:
  – Lead and manage the IACUC to ensure ethical and regulatory compliance in animal care and research.
  – Oversee protocol review and approval, organize committee meetings, and maintain records.
– Training and Education:
  – Develop training programs for researchers, staff, and IACUC members.
  – Monitor ongoing compliance and conduct inspections as necessary.
– Policy Development:
  – Collaborate on institutional policy development and updates related to animal care and use.
 
Qualifications:
 
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
– Minimum 4 years of compliance and regulatory management experience in a similar environment.
– Knowledge of relevant regulations, including AALAC, FDA, OLAW, and GLP.
– Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
– Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
