We are searching for a Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing at Class II and Class III medical devices manufacturing sites. Production at these sites varies from low volume, high mix, to high speed, high volume. Manufacturing Managers will report directly to either the site’s GM or Director of Operations and be second in command of the site.   The Manufacturing Manager will lead and coordinate all production activities through direct reports and hourly associates to achieve production goals across multiple production lines. Meet all required safety, quality, and regulatory compliance commitments in the execution of area manufacturing processes.  Candidates without medical device experience will not be considered.

typical roles and responsibilities for Manufacturing Manager

  • Manage process development engineering teams
  • Manage manufacturing engineering teams and technicians
  • Working with R&D, develop project specific manufacturing timelines and budgets
  • Working with quality team, help develop project specific manufacturing quality standards per ISO13485
  • Collaborate with production planning and supply chain to receive necessary raw materials according to production schedules
  • Manage packaging and warehouse process and teams
  • With site director, develop and manage operations budget
  • Act as point of contact for contract manufacturing projects

Requirements for Manufacturing Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in medical device manufacturing
  • A depth of experience in either low volume high mix, or high speed, high volume medical device manufacturing
  • Manufacturing experience with Class II or Class III medical devices preferred
  • Program/project management experience with a strong background in developing production timelines and schedules
  • A track record of accomplishment in developing subordinates including production supervisors, engineers and technicians
  • Experience managing skilled trades and contract employees
  • Strong communications skills
  • A track record of accomplishment in working with medical device customers
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

Salary range for Manufacturing Manager

  • $110,000
  • $130,000
  • $160,000
