Position: VP Defense Manufacturing Training Program

Location: Danville, VA 

 

Medium size business in the Danville area providing Defense Manufacturing is looking for a Vice President that can provide strategic oversight and management of this critical / tactical training program.

 

Individual will be responsible for ensuring the successful training, support, and placement of students, with companies that are doing research, design, produce, deliver, and maintain military weapons systems, subsystems, and components.

 

The right candidate will need to have SIGNIFICANT leadership experience, budget management, with a mix of entrepreneurial experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

        Provide visionary leadership

        Develop and implement strategies for program growth

        Create sustainability and continuous improvement for the program

        Lead and mentor the department’s leadership team

        Be fully engaged with Industry and Community partners

        Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders

        Manage the project milestones and deliverables

        Guide the development and execution of recruitment, training, and job placement strategies

        Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data to ensure alignment with industry goals and program objectives

        Provide regular updates to company executives

        Maintain compliance with all program requirements, including adherence to contracts and regulatory standards

 

REQUIREMENTS

        Master’s in Business Administration, Education, Workforce Development or a related field

        Minimum of 10 years of experience in workforce development or education management

        At least 5 years in a leadership role

        Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships

        Proven track record of leading large-scale training or workforce development programs

        Defense sector experience.

        Technical experience in the area of manufacturing, a plus

        High level presentation experience at very senior level audiences.

 

Additional REQUIREMENTS

        No Remote – typical week – 4 days on site

        Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents

        Minimal relocation package provided
