Position: TIG Welder
Shift: 1 Hours: 7AM-4:00PM
Type: Full-Time | Mode: Direct Placement
Pay Scale: $25-30hr | Industry: Manufacturing

Responsible for preparing, performing, and finishing GTAW (TIG) and GMAW-P (MIG Pulse) welds to manufacture products in line with blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld stainless steel components (304 & 316) using TIG or MIG Pulse processes.

  • Interpret and work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and tolerance requirements.

  • Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, or distortion.

  • Set up and operate hand and power tools, including angle grinders, TIG welders, and MIG welders.

  • Select appropriate filler rods based on base metal specifications.

  • Prepare workpieces by grinding or cutting edges to ensure proper fit.

  • Identify equipment malfunctions or defective materials.

  • Consistently follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA standards.

  • Adapt to changing duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Welding certifications preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of GTAW & GMAW-P welding experience and blueprint reading.

  • Experience with modular fixturing is a plus.

  • Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.

  • Works effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Quick learner with a drive to advance skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Must use required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, twisting, bending, and repetitive hand/wrist movements.

  • Occasional walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and overhead reaching.

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 50 lbs; occasionally over 50 lbs.

  • Occasional pushing/pulling of various weights.

  • Continuous simple grasping, fine manipulation, and tool use; occasional gross grasping.
