Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time Therapy Medical Physicist to join a growing team in Kansas City, KS. This position offers exciting opportunities for career growth and advancement. The successful candidate will work closely with other physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation oncologists, supporting state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to exceptional patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-trained, compassionate professional in Radiation Oncology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibrations on treatment units.

  • Monitor Radiation Oncology Department equipment to ensure proper and safe function.

  • Maintain and submit regulatory records and reports.

  • Supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions and analyze alternative treatment plans.

  • Implement assessments and treatments based on patients’ developmental stages.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.

  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility through a CAMPEP-accredited residency in therapy physics.

  • 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret regulations and implement them in clinical practice.

  • Strong initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.

  • Willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and colleagues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop viable solutions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate and move medical equipment.

  • Physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying are required.

  • Exposure to radiation and other conditions typical of a radiation therapy setting.

  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
