Technical Sales
Responsible for all regional sales for Sales Division 4 (Tire and Rubber)
Including but not limited to:
- Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
- Ability to learn technical requirements for the ability to quote accurately and provide information in a timely manner to division and or product managers as well as customer
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
- Prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs
- Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve problems, and to provide ongoing support
- Provide customers with product samples and catalogs
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales
- Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, logging customer visit reports, and filing expense account reports
- Teamwork with inside sales, engineering, service, and customer service to insure project success and completion
- Keep Division and Project Manager updated and informed of any and all aspects of projects
- Understanding and implementation of mechanical and electrical principles of control loops
- Gather and maintain customer information to be provided to customer service for the maintaining of the customer master files.
- Analytical and detail structured work ethics.
- Proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common equipment and software
- Assisting Exhibition and Sales promotional activities
- Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned by management as necessary
Work experience requirements:
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years Technical Sales experience, 50-70 % travel
- Working knowledge of electrical circuits, electronic devices, motors, motor control, inverter drives, sensors, and cameras
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Must have a driver’s license with a clean driving record
- SAP experience preferred
- Computer literate (Windows, Microsoft, Lotus Notes)
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Oral and written communication skills
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering would be preferred, or
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration with technical sales experience, or Equivalent combination of education and business/technical work experience
