We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the full construction project lifecycle, from mobilization to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring quality, safety, budget adherence, and project timelines. The role requires close coordination with subcontractors and vendors, along with overseeing construction activities to meet company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and direct labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to achieve the highest quality.
- Review contract drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with designers and project managers.
- Assist in selecting contractors and monitor project schedules in coordination with the project manager.
- Inspect subcontractor work for quality and compliance with construction documents.
- Approve or dispute T&M sheets submitted by subcontractors.
- Coordinate with utility companies and expedite material orders to ensure timely inventory.
- Evaluate the performance of field personnel and subcontractor crews.
- Minimize construction impact on tenant operations while maintaining efficiency.
- Oversee tenant openings and obtain necessary Certificates of Occupancy and Compliance.
- Promote and enforce job site safety practices.
Background Profile:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial, new construction.
- Retail construction experience is highly preferred.
- Must be willing to travel to job sites within a 1-3 hour radius of Sarasota.
- Highly motivated with a strong commitment to excellence and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
