Position Summary
Structural Engineer designs, analyzes, and oversees construction of resilient structures (bridges, retaining walls, infrastructure). Partners with architects and contractors to deliver code-compliant, on-time, on-budget projects using advanced analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and calculate structures to resist wind, seismic, and gravity loads.
- Lead projects from concept to completion, enforcing schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with teams to refine designs and ensure code compliance.
- Inspect sites to verify quality and structural integrity.
- Produce calculations, drawings, and reports using AutoCAD, OpenRoads, PSBeam, MDX, SAP2000.
- Comply with ODOT, AASHTO, AISC, ACI, ASTM standards.
- Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates to guide material and method selection.
Education & Experience
- BS/MS in Civil/Structural Engineering (Prestressed Concrete, Steel, FEA, Mechanics).
- Proven bridge design, analysis, and inspection experience.
- Ohio PE or eligible; EIT with FE passed.
- Expert in PSBeam, MDX, AASHTOWare BrR; proficient in AutoCAD, OpenRoads.
- FEA knowledge preferred.
- Strong analytics, math, communication, and precision.
- Familiar with Ohio regs and construction practices.
- Professional society membership a plus.
