Immediate opportunity for Rotating Equipment Specialist to join our global chemical client in Eastern North Carolina area. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on rotating equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across multiple facilities. This role requires strong decision-making, critical thinking, and communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor rotating equipment performance, analyze trends, and propose action plans.
  • Provide specialized technical support for equipment specification, design, quality assurance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Support outages and turnarounds by reviewing plans and offering expertise in equipment disassembly and repair.
  • Collaborate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) on equipment design, repairs, and improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between facilities and vendors to address common issues and escalate concerns.
  • Lead the development of rotating equipment mechanical integrity programs and internal practices.
  • Contribute to industry knowledge by participating in professional organizations and sharing best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians on rotating equipment concepts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and seek opportunities to implement new technologies.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience reliability/ maintenance of rotating equipment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in rotating equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, and equipment selection.
  • Knowledge of ASME and API Standards, Process Industry Practices (PIP), and vibration analysis related to rotating equipment.
  • Experience in chemicals, refinery, pulp & paper, fertilizer or petrochemical facilities.
  • Familiarity with process safety management and quality control programs.
