Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated SPED Special Education Teacher – Essential Academics (Middle School) to support students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom setting. This position involves developing IEPs, adapting curriculum, and collaborating with a team to ensure academic success.
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs
- Develop and implement IEPs and behavioral intervention plans
- Modify and adapt curriculum to meet various learning styles
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers
- Manage student behavior and maintain a structured classroom environment
- Use data to drive instruction and assess student progress
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians on student performance
- Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate on student goals
- Use educational technology and tools to enhance learning
- Fulfill all professional and administrative responsibilities, including documentation and compliance tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- SPED Special Education certification (required)
- ESL certification (preferred)
- Strong understanding of IEP development and instructional modifications
- Demonstrated competency in core academic subject areas
