JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

 

My client is looking for a Sourcing Analyst in the area of raw materials ,with primary experience in sourcing chemicals. The role requires expertise in sourcing, and a focus towards building supply chain, and the ability and willingness to manage the entire project, from procurement to delivery, for the customer.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a strategy and implementation plan in line with the overall goals of the organization, and build a revenue pipeline
  • Build a strong network of suppliers globally. 
  • Develop customer profiles in terms of their raw materials requirements through customer interactions and relationship development, and through an understanding of their business.
  • Set-up strong systems and processes for raw material procurement, costing, quality assessments, inventory management, warehousing, and end-to-end logistics
  • Manage entire projects for procurement and delivery of raw materials including procedural aspects such as costing, pricing and negotiations with suppliers and customers, contract creation, and invoicing and order closure.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction, while creating value for the organization and the suppliers.

 

Requirements:

 

Experience: 5-7 years 

Qualification: Bachelors Degree

 
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of raw material procurement and delivery
  • Experience in costing, pricing, and negotiations
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, applications, and quality aspects
  • Willingness to develop an understanding of end-product requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams toward product solutioning, in cases involving sourcing for manufacturing projects
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced, diverse, ever evolving and values led environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

 

  • Responsible for developing sourcing strategies and strategy execution.
  • Preference will be giving to candidates with experience in chemical buying. 
  • Interface closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, QA, Marketing and Finance.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management/Purchasing/Engineering or a related field.
  • Min. 8 years procurement/materials/engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • MBA, CPM, CPIM certification a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with Suppliers.
  • Excellent negotiation skills (understands cost drivers).
