Our client, a life sciences platform, is accelerating innovation across drug development, diagnostics, and therapeutic solutions by offering end-to-end services—from early-stage discovery through manufacturing, commercialization, and delivery. The organization’s network includes several specialized subsidiaries providing custom chemicals, reagents, assays, lipid nanoparticle design, immunoassay development, diagnostic tools, and STEM education solutions.
We are looking for a Site Director who will be accountable for all operations at the South Rochester, NY, manufacturing facility, providing leadership and oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of chemical products. This role will drive operational excellence while cultivating a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture.
Requirements of the Site Director:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical), Business Administration, Finance, or a related scientific field required.
- 5–10 years of manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Background in LEAN manufacturing principles and methodologies strongly preferred.
- Technical expertise in chemical handling, blending, and processing operations a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP, production management, and warehouse systems; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
- Onsite requirement 5 days a week.
Responsibilities of the Site Director:
- Lead manufacturing operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and regulatory requirements while driving a strong safety culture.
- Drive change management and SAP implementation
- Oversee quality systems to ensure products meet specifications and partner with QA to elevate standards.
- Manage site budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency without sacrificing safety or quality.
- Serve as key liaison between site operations and corporate functions (Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, Finance).
- Oversee preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and facility/capital improvement projects.
- Lead supply chain activities: purchasing, inventory, raw material planning, and coordination with corporate teams.
- Track and report production metrics, performance data, and operational results to leadership.
