Our client, a manufacturing company, is seeking a Controller to join their team. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting function, including monthly financial statements, leading the month end, quarter end and year end close process, implementing process improvements, and providing decision support for Operations for multiple plant locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all aspects of the month-end close, including reporting and analysis, for 3 manufacturing plants
- Ensure internal controls for all plant level sales, operations, and finance activities are upheld
- Cash management for the sites, including weekly cash forecasting
- Improves financial performance of the business through analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, providing recommendations to leadership, and identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices
- Analyze of cost of goods sold, product variances, overhead costs and allocations, and other associated operating costs
- Establish, evaluate, and update standard costs
- Quarterly review of all balance sheet accounts
- Lead annual audits
- Ensures accuracy of physical inventory and reports
- Responsible for plant level budgets and forecasts
- Manage capital expenditure and fixed asset records
- Ad Hoc reporting and projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- At least 5 years of experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment
- Expertise financial reporting, cost accounting, consolidation, and financial analysis
- Proficient with MS Excel and ERP systems
