Key duties
-Create, build & improve test methodologies and systems to test detectors, applications specific integrated circuits (ASIC’s) and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) used in manufacturing.
– Design, build and maintain electrical and/or mechanical test fixtures.
– Develop tools and processes to automate testing.
– Develop procedures and training operators on test equipment.
– Develop hardware test diagnostics for PCBA’s with exotic materials .
– Implement, verify, and ensure compliance of the test and measurement equipment.
– Develop the materials necessary for training of operators to perform tests per documented processes
– Documentation and reporting of test set up, test plans, and test results.
– Coach, develop, train, and mentor less experienced test engineers.
Experience and Education
– B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
– Minium of 8 years’ experience in a test engineering role
Skills and abilities
– Experience improving and enhancing existing PCBA’s
– Experience using data-based tools for decision making and communications.
– Willing to lead the product improvement initiatives from a team perspective.
– Strong analytical, technical, and methodical problem-solving background
– Experience and comfort using methodical problem-solving approaches.
– Good interpersonal skills: ability to influence attitudes and foster change.
– Self-starting and driven agent of change.
– Comfortable working in an ISO 9001 environment.
– Experience mentoring less experienced test engineers.
– Experience with small electronics components helpful.
– Ability to work with Cross functional teams – Ops, R&D, Engr. Mgmt..
