Sr Technician Field Automation – Programming Job
North Dakota, US
 This role will be charged with performing field automation support and maintenance to include server and network support for Upstream and Midstream Assets, to include the Tioga Gas Plant (TGP) and associated facilities. This position will provide a strong focus on standardized processes, continuous improvement, safe delivery of project and maintenance activities, and adherence to the Process Control Domain (PCD) cyber security standard. Development of integrated workflows with key stakeholder groups is required, including but not limited to Operational Technology, I&E, Cyber Security, and Operations.
 
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 The primary areas of focus will include the following:
  • Operational Control
    • Acts as the first line of technical support in problem resolution for a variety of Automation/DCS systems 
    • Provides technical knowledge, leadership, and skill in support of special projects
    • Implements a variety of security and compliance related controls for the OT PCD environment to protect against cyber threats
    • Helps prepare, as necessary, accurate and complete documentation for end-user products and systems including instructions, processes, and procedures
    • Supports disaster recovery and business continuity processes, tools, and procedures
    • Maintains obsolescence awareness on field automation, network, and DCS systems
 
 
Experience/Skills   
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and/or ability to learn following skills:
    • Basic knowledge/experience with SAP work management tool
    • Working knowledge of IP addresses schema, user account set-ups, permissions and policies and emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with Process Control Domains (PCD), Allen Bradley, and Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Safety Manager System
  • Familiarity with network data communications including TCP/IP, client/server functions, and hardware/software architectures
  • Ability to effectively analyze the impact of enhancements and product upgrades and implement changes in a process managed manner
  • Working knowledge of field automation components including but not limited to PLC and HMI hardware and software (Honeywell Safety Manager, RS Logix, FactoryTalk), system communications, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization, time management, prioritization and planning skills and able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines for self and team
 
Education/Training    
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates or technical degree in related field, preferred.
Must have valid driver’s license.
