Senior Civil Engineer I/II – Land Development

Location:
San Diego, California (92101)

Compensation:
$95,000 – $120,000 per year

Overview

A well-established, employee-owned civil engineering organization is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer I/II to support land development projects that help shape growing communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project designs by evaluating site conditions, project constraints, project objectives, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.

  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assisting with construction changes.

  • Train and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.

  • Prepare technical reports and perform complex calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, stormwater detention, and utility sizing.

  • Complete complex grading designs and earthwork calculations.

  • Deliver high-quality engineering work products, including full QA/QC reviews and completeness checks, for both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited four-year institution.

  • 5–7 years of professional experience, depending on prior land development design experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years independently solving complex engineering problems in a land development environment.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop (LDD), and/or Civil 3D.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented problem solver with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
