DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical leadership on maintenance, assessment and monitoring of all of the rotating equipment at plant
Develop long and short-term improvement plans for the plant rotating equipment
Lead rotating equipment reliability studies on existing equipment and recommend needed improvements to key stakeholders
Manage the rotating equipment preventive/predictive monitoring program and maintenance techniques to drive reliability and cost reduction for the overall asset lifecycle
Provide technical expertise in regard to job plan development, equipment critical path, job scopes, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems
Define and approve repairs to service equipment, per RAGAGEPs, potentially including audit and evaluation of contracted repair organizations, and inspection of repair work
Oversee the rotating equipment contracts including the annual seal consignment program
Failure Analysis –
• Drive rotating equipment Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) to acceptable level
• Leadership accountability to ensure that data collected is accurate and addresses the appropriate failure modes for rotating equipment at the facility
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on equipment failures and analyze data using appropriate reliability analysis tools to develop and implement corrective improvement plans
• Providing the management team with well written and oral presentations with necessary information and supporting analysis to make appropriate business decisions.
• Develop/approve equipment repairs per local/national codes and RAGAGEPs.
• Evaluate failure areas to propose material of construction and other design changes to be used in the capital plans.
Document Management –
• Leadership accountability to ensure that procedures are in place to define rotating equipment maintenance strategies based on evaluated or expected risks
• Audit/evaluate contracted repair organizations and inspect repairs
• Accountable to develop and maintain documentation of emergency/temporary repairs
• Properly managing the records associated with rotating equipment
• Utilizing proper documentation systems as the location for the rotating records
HES Support and MOC Action Items –
• HSE responsibilities include but are not restricted to those outlined in Leadership expectations such as reporting any incident in a timely manner.
• Ensuring safe procedures and processes followed by all team members.
• Championing continuous improvement for the department in all areas of HES
• Ensure static equipment reliability program meets/exceeds local/national regulatory compliance/RAGAGEPs.
Communication –
• Working effectively with several cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
• Accountable to assist plant management in establishing an acceptable level of risk for rotating equipment across the plant
• Providing strategic insight to the site rotating equipment annual operating process, strategic plan, and capital budget
• Being the recognized expert of rotating equipment repairs and inspection techniques
• Accountable for communication of the status of rotating equipment to appropriate stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum 8 years of work experience in the design, repair, maintenance, reliability, failure modes, and/or inspection of chemical process equipment.
Experience with reliability tools such as RCFA, FMEA, Weibull analysis, statistical analysis, etc.
Thorough understanding of rotating equipment maintenance, repairs, and reliability
Knowledge of applicable RAGAGEPs including ASME API, ASTM, ANSI.
