RN – Long Term Acute Care

 

Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 with a one-year work commitment

Shift Differentials: Nights +$4.00; Weekends +$3.25

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Long Term Acute Care unit. This role involves delivering comprehensive patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and uphold the standards of nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and evaluate the nursing care provided, assigning tasks based on patient needs and team capabilities.
  • Document patient assessments, care plans, and other relevant information accurately in medical records.
  • Develop and update comprehensive nursing care plans for assigned patients, ensuring coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Assess and manage patient pain, educating patients and families on effective pain management techniques.
  • Revise care plans according to patient responses, ensuring effective daily evaluation and treatment adjustments.
  • Administer medications accurately, following the five rights of medication administration to minimize errors.
  • Facilitate physician rounds, assisting with examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Formulate and evaluate teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
  • Engage professionally with patients and families, addressing their needs with respect and dignity.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BCLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of medication administration and clinical care based on age and condition.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently, develop action plans, and prioritize under pressure.
  • Dependable attendance and collaboration with team members across departments.

Work Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
