Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will provide safe and effective nursing care to all Emergency Room patients, utilizing the nursing process while ensuring high standards of patient care. This position requires flexibility, as hours and shifts may vary according to departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe and effective nursing care to Emergency Room patients using the nursing process.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments through data collection and systems evaluation.

  • Educate patients and families by implementing individualized teaching plans.

  • Document patients’ responses to nursing interventions, treatments, and procedures accurately.

  • Communicate continuously with the healthcare team regarding patient status and care updates.

  • Supervise and direct assigned personnel delivering patient care to ensure quality standards are met.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Current Registered Nursing License in Alabama.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (must be obtained by the end of the 90-day probationary period).

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience is preferred, especially in an Emergency Department or critical care setting.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and efficiently.
