Exciting new Boston area diagnostics company seeks a Research Associate to join a team developing novel technology using monoclonal antibody markers. The Research Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as analyzing samples and processing data, planning and developing experiments, preparing reagents and electro-chemical sensors and other lab work. Requirements for Research Associate:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nanotechnology, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with some exposure or experience in the field of nano-device fabrication and characterization, electronic circuits modeling and analysis, or electrochemical devices
  • 1+ year of hands-on, experimental research experience, either in an academic or industrial setting.
  • 2+ years of industrial lab experience preferred.
  • Experience with graphene.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. Able to communicate well in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent laboratory skills, including attention to detail, and strong data interpretation and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to well with personnel at all levels.
  • Experienced in computer programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience with lab safety and chemical hygiene.

  • Electronic – semiconductor device test – measurement and fabrication experience desirable
  • Lab automation experience desirable (e.g. LabVIEW programming)
  • Electrochemistry experience desirable

 

Responsibilities of the Research Associate:

 

  • Prepare analytical samples and carry out variety of experiments. Interacts with subject-matter experts for advanced analytical probing.
  • Conduct device test experiments for electronic devices
  • Work with other scientists to design experiments and based on findings, helps to execute follow-up work in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of work completed. Reports and notebook should be organized and kept in a timely manner. Edits and finalizes protocols, process instructions.
  • Work safely and participates in all group safety activities.
  • Maintains lab bench and other work areas in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Operate various lab tools such as plate reader, sensor testing devices, fluorescent microscopes and other required lab equipment.
  • Operate device testing tools such as wire bonder, oscilloscope, lock-in amplifier, transistor analyzer and other required electronic measurement equipment.
  • Plan and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval.
  • May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions.
