We are working with a client in need of a Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor

Location: Nursing Home – New Orleans, La

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 8 Hour Nights and 8 Hour Evening Shifts

Job Description:

As the RN Night Supervisor at our nursing home facility, you will be primarily responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures during the night shift. You will work closely with the day shift management to ensure continuity of care and maintain effective communication between shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Ensure all residents receive quality care according to their individual care plans, and address any changes in residents’ health status. You will need to use your clinical judgement to triage emergencies and coordinate prompt responses.

  2. Staff Management: Supervise the night shift nursing staff, ensuring they perform their duties effectively. Schedule and oversee staff assignments, ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained, and manage any staffing issues that arise during the night shift.

  3. Administration and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures. Handle documentation related to patient care and incident reports, and ensure proper handover between shifts.

  4. Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with residents, their families, and the medical team. Facilitate communication between day and night shift staff to ensure continuity of care.

  5. Education and Training: Provide ongoing training and development for the night shift nursing staff, and facilitate in-service training as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • At least 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work night shift, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements:

This job involves physical demands, such as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and transferring residents, and responding to emergencies. Candidates should be physically capable of performing these tasks safely.
