Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills to join our healthcare team, specializing in hospice care. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for terminally ill patients and demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to terminally ill patients in accordance with hospice care standards.

  • Assess patient needs and develop personalized care plans to manage pain and symptoms.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies for pain relief and symptom management.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and families.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care and provide emotional support.

  • Utilize electronic medical records and other software to document patient care and maintain accurate records.

Required Experience:

  • Registered Professional Nurse licensed to practice nursing in New York State.

  • 1-2 years of recent bedside nursing experience with strong clinical skills.

  • At least 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience.

  • Experience caring for terminally ill patients, with a basic understanding and commitment to the hospice care model.

  • Preferred experience in home care, hospice, and/or oncology.

  • Strong knowledge of medications, treatments, and therapies for pain and symptom control.

  • Commitment to sit for and pass the hospice and palliative care nursing certification exam within three years of employment.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on pain and symptom management.

  • Ability to assess patient and family needs and plan care accordingly.

  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Windows.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
