POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Collaborate with Nutrition Services Manager for quality patient care
  • Develop and execute Multidisciplinary Care Plans
  • Prepare Nutritional Assessments and Care Planning
  • Evaluate patients at nutritional risk for intervention
  • Assist in meal preparation and distribution

Work Lifestyle:

  • Flexible hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Emphasis on task completion over rigid schedules
  • Long-term care setting
  • Daily morning meetings at 9:00 AM
  • Weekly task lists for efficient planning
  • Team meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday for collaboration
  • Monthly meal rounds, weight changes, and skin notes
  • Encouragement for employees to plan their days effectively
  • Results-oriented approach with managerial support

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: BS in Dietetics plus 1 yr. internship or equivalent

LICENSE:

  • Minimum: NYS Dietetics-Nutrition License
  • Registered with The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum: Experience in diet therapy and food service management in a health care facility.

SKILLS:

  • Minimum:
    • Self-motivated with responsibility for nutritional care of assigned customers
    • Committed to working within time constraints
    • Collaboration with other disciplines and operational team members of Nutrition Services Department
    • Independent thinker
    • Prioritization of work assignments with sound judgment
    • Handling confidential information with discretion
    • Professional and courteous public interaction
    • Meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities
    • Enhancing teamwork through effective role modeling
    • Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
