Quality, Environmental Health, and Safety Manager

Lorain OH

The Quality, Environmental Health, and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations across the company, conducting regular inspections, devising preventive measures, leading training initiatives, and investigating workplace accidents to prevent recurrence

Responsibilities:

·       Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

·       Develops, implements, and maintains inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections as well as environmental, health, and safety management systems.

·       Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

·       Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

·       Monitors compliance with safety procedures.

·       Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.

·       Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

·       Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

·       Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.  Or Bachelor’s Degree with applicable experience.

·       5+ years of related experience is preferred.

·       ISO 9001 experience is a MUST!

·       Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

·       Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent written & verbal communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.

·       Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
