ABOUT US:
Our client is a full-service, tier-one supplier to the automotive industry, specializing in the design and production of molded plastic components, accessories, and electronic components. Our Ohio facility houses product and mold design, construction, production engineering, and dedicated associates in our Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Packaging Buyer/Designer designs, plans, and implements new packaging at new startup and as new packaging is required. He/she negotiates pricing and volume with packaging suppliers and communicates with stakeholders to ensure good designs are chosen and everyone is informed.
· Creating new model packaging for each supplier part using 3D data and design software.
· Planning packaging systems for the correct type, and number of containers to ensure both the client and suppliers have sufficient packaging to prevent downtime and quality problems.
· Negotiating pricing and delivery through competitive bidding to get the best pack price for supplier and in house packaging systems.
· Communicating through regular meetings, e-mail, verbal and designed forms with all the stakeholders concerning packaging designs and implementation. Obtaining written and oral feedback to ensure most stakeholders agree on the design and system size of packaging, and to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the packaging plan.
· Designing and implementing forms and systems to ensure good communication.
· Confirming the quality of the container and cart builds to ensure packaging is correctly assembled.
· Investigating and troubleshooting and enacting countermeasures to solve the problems.

· Associate’s degree in operations/Logistics/Business Management or equivalent experience.
· Knowledge of Inventor and Catia software
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office
· Familiarity with transportation field
· Ability to learn technical requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· General Office Environment 7 hours per day
· Manufacturing Environment 1 hour per day
· Lifting (max 40 lbs.)
· Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
· Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
