JOB TITLE: Purchasing and Inventory Manager
LOCATION: Louisville, KY
SHIFT HOURS: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
SALARY RANGE: $65,000–$75,000 annually


ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing and Inventory Manager to join a rapidly growing food manufacturing company based in Louisville, KY. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all purchasing and inventory management functions, ensuring operational efficiency and product availability. This role will manage up to two direct reports and requires expertise in ERP systems, high-volume inventory environments, and a strong attention to detail.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage purchasing activities including vendor relations, price negotiations, and order placement

  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking of high-volume and high cycle count products

  • Utilize ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management (QuickBooks Inventory experience is a plus)

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess stock

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team (up to two direct reports)

  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement

  • Implement best practices for inventory control, forecasting, and supply chain management

  • Work closely with production and operations teams to align inventory with business needs

  • Monitor and report on key inventory metrics and purchasing performance

  • Ensure compliance with food manufacturing safety and quality standards


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of purchasing and/or inventory management experience, preferably within food manufacturing or a similar industry

  • Experience working with ERP systems (QuickBooks Inventory experience preferred)

  • Proven ability to manage high volumes and high cycle counts accurately

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring team members

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing company environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
