Our client is a well-established manufacturer of high-end architectural woodwork, custom fixtures, furnishings, and branded environments for retail and hospitality customers. They operate a large-scale production facility in the Providence, RI area and deliver complex custom projects across the United States. They are seeking an organized and client-focused Project Manager to lead custom build projects from kickoff through installation.
The Project Manager leads assigned custom millwork and fixture projects from initial handoff through final installation. This role owns project schedules, budgets, material coordination, production alignment, and site execution. The Project Manager works closely with production, purchasing, engineering, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure projects deliver on time, on budget, and to quality expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead projects from kickoff through final delivery, installation, and closeout
Conduct site visits for field measurements and installation supervision
Organize and run kickoff and turnover meetings to align scope, deliverables, and timelines
Identify required materials and coordinate purchasing activities
Collaborate with engineering on shop drawings, feasibility reviews, and value engineering
Coordinate with production to maintain project schedules and quality standards
Build and manage detailed project schedules and track progress
Coordinate deliveries and site installations with general contractors and subcontractors
Communicate project status, risks, and updates to internal teams and customers
Verify materials, finishes, and dimensions prior to production and shipment
Identify and resolve project risks and field issues
Maintain organized project records in ERP and project tracking systems
Support vendor and subcontractor management
Travel to client sites for measurements, progress reviews, and installation oversight
Multi-task across several active projects while maintaining accuracy and organization
Requirements:
3+ years of project or account management experience in millwork, store fixtures, POP, exhibits, or specialty construction
Must be able to work on-site in Providence, RI
Proven experience managing custom one-off builds from start to finish
Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, finishes, and fabrication processes
Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
Excellent organization and time management skills
Strong client-facing communication skills
Ability to coordinate cross-functional production and vendor teams
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Bachelor’s degree preferred
