Position: Project Manager – Commercial

Skills and Experience:

This role entails managing commercial projects across various sectors, including retail, multi-family residential, state and federal projects, military, gaming, and hospitality. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, responsible for promoting quality services and fostering positive relationships. Key responsibilities include overall management of subcontractors and leading critical technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions, along with field construction oversight during project execution.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in prioritization and organization
  • Working knowledge of tools such as BIM, Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of organizing project teams to achieve goals
  • Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with owners
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction management
  • Experience with medium to large-scale projects ($20M+)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

Essential Job Duties:

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture on projects
  • Control costs and maintain project profitability, leveraging extensive heavy construction experience
  • Manage field construction activities, engineering, and other support functions
  • Oversee project schedules and monitor production to ensure timely completion
  • Review cost reports and conduct analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance productivity
  • Establish project labor requirements in coordination with divisional management
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess work progress, quality, and safety conditions
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure all work aligns with project scope and specifications
  • Administer project policies and procedures effectively
  • Coordinate with architects, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve project issues and develop solutions
  • Facilitate regular safety meetings and support supervision in addressing safety concerns
  • Monitor adherence to company and regulatory procedures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee purchasing activities to ensure quality materials are sourced and delivered on time and at competitive costs
  • Hold regular meetings with project supervision to review progress and plan future activities
  • Assess the need for construction equipment and ensure proper maintenance
  • Ensure quality control oversight throughout the project
