Job Description: Construction Project Manager
Overview
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. Oversee subcontractors, manage resources, and maintain compliance with specifications, regulations, and contracts while fostering collaboration among project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
– Create efficient project plans and schedules, optimizing resource allocation.
– Select and manage subcontractors across various project phases.
– Monitor trade contractor performance and ensure adherence to architectural/engineering drawings, specifications, and regulations.
– Administer construction contracts and secure all required permits and licenses.
– Supervise assistant managers, review their reports, address challenges, and enforce safety compliance.
– Track and manage project schedules and budgets to meet deadlines and financial targets.
– Provide regular updates to owners and architects, recommending plan modifications when necessary.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or architecture; additional training in business administration or accounting is a plus for engineers/architects.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience assisting or managing increasingly complex construction projects.
– Ability to thrive under pressure while coordinating multiple activities and stakeholders for maximum efficiency.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills.
