Project Engineer
Pay Range: Competitive and based on industry experience. 100-125k
Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, with additional days as required
Objective:
The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. Responsibilities focus on assisting with goal setting, planning, communication, organization, implementation, and tracking to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collect, organize, review, and distribute project submittals
– Manage plan drawings, including updates and revisions
– Maintain and update all required project logs
– Conduct material take-offs
– Liaise with owners, client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers
– Calculate pricing and prepare contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
– Coordinate subcontractor schedules and material deliveries
– Keep a well-organized workspace while juggling multiple projects
– Draft reports, business correspondence, and project documentation
– Clearly present information in one-on-one or small group settings to clients, customers, and team members
– Interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating manuals, and procedural instructions
– Take on additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
– Candidates with three or more years of relevant experience (as described in this role) will also be considered
– Strong working knowledge of Primavera 3 and 6
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
– Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
– Solid grasp of basic algebra, geometry, and construction math concepts
– Valid driver’s license for occasional travel as needed
– Ability to identify issues, gather data, analyze facts, and reach sound conclusions
– Capability to interpret complex technical instructions, including mathematical and diagrammatic formats, while handling both abstract and practical variables
– Moderate physical stamina for administrative tasks, with some outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind)
– Ability to navigate minor obstacles on foot at construction sites
– Sufficient manual dexterity to handle items and perform detailed work
