Production Manager

Lead & Optimize a Growing Machining Operation

We are seeking a Manufacturing Manager to oversee multiple machining departments at our Oak Lawn facility. This newly created role is perfect for a hands-on leader with extensive machining and manufacturing expertise, who can enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and develop a high-performing team within a specialized metal fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing operations across multiple departments, ensuring optimal performance of CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other key equipment
  • Lead & manage a team of 8 direct reports and 100+ indirect reports, overseeing 50+ machine tools in a fast-paced industrial setting
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime
  • Ensure product quality by working closely with Quality Control teams, resolving issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage budgets & inventory, ensuring efficient use of tooling, materials, and maintenance resources
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, integrating lean manufacturing principles and advanced technologies
  • Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety standards and training programs

Requirements

  • BS degree required in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Automation Engineering, or an equivalent of 10+ years of hands-on leadership experience in CNC machining environments
  • 5-10+ years of experience in machining, manufacturing, or steel production
  • 2-5+ years in an operations leadership role, with experience managing teams in an industrial setting
  • Strong CNC machining expertise – Experience overseeing CNC lathes, mills, and general machining operations
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Mindset – Six Sigma or lean certifications preferred
  • Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and Microsoft Office
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Proven ability to analyze processes, drive improvements, and lead teams to success
