We are representing a manufacturing company with a site located in the North LA area – this plant was recently involved in an acquisition and the VP of Operations wants to bring in a process engineer to improve both the efficiency as well as the productivity of this facility. The facility is functioning well, is a cleaner facility and has a reliable team, but the company is tolling out capacity and would like to bring some of that in-house. The challenge of this role will be a creative one – the equipment isn’t very scalable so the trick will be in things like work processes and process layouts (among other things). There is quite a bit of low-hanging fruit in terms of optimization opportunities, so this person should be able to make their mark pretty quickly.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
1-3 years of post-college experience in manufacturing, ideally in a process that involves mixing, blending, packaging, and/or filling
MUST be fluent in Spanish – 2/3rds of the workforce at this facility speak Spanish as their primary language
Must be local to the Santa Clarita/Simi Valley/Glendale area – no relo assistance available
Should have demonstrable optimization and process improvement experience
