Job Description Overview
Seeking a talented Intermediate Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team in a vibrant West Coast metropolitan region. This role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for diverse projects, including institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities. Collaborating with a dynamic, cross-functional team, the successful candidate will apply technical expertise to design power, lighting, and low-voltage systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited U.S. institution.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electrical design for commercial, institutional, or industrial projects.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and drafting.
- Strong understanding of energy conservation codes and standards, such as those equivalent to California’s energy efficiency regulations.
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., SKM or ETAP) is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects by executing electrical design tasks under the guidance of senior management.
- Develop comprehensive construction documents, including detailed drawings, power system studies, and technical specifications.
- Design and implement medium- and low-voltage AC/DC systems, single-line diagrams, electrical plans, and equipment layouts.
- Create interior and exterior lighting designs, ensuring compliance with industry illumination standards.
- Participate in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to support design, construction, and post-construction phases.
- Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and address comments from regulatory authorities.
- Conduct site visits as required to assess project progress and ensure alignment with design intent.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other engineering disciplines.
