Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for patient education and care in Peritoneal Dialysis? This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients managing their dialysis at home. Join our dedicated team in Indianapolis and help guide patients through their treatment journey with expertise and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer personalized dialysis treatments according to individual care plans.
  • Monitor patient health during treatment sessions, observing for any signs of complications.
  • Manage patient fluid levels to ensure optimal hydration and prevent fluid overload.
  • Collect and analyze blood samples to track patient health during treatment.
  • Educate and support patients emotionally and practically throughout their treatment.
  • Conduct tests to evaluate kidney function, including creatinine clearance and urea reduction ratio.
  • Maintain sterile procedures, especially when dealing with infectious diseases.
  • Prepare patients for dialysis by ensuring cleanliness of the peritoneal cavity.
  • Instruct patients on the importance of adhering to their treatment plan and maintaining a safe home environment.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, supervising dialysis technicians effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one-year nursing experience, with expertise in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
  • At least six months of general dialysis experience.
  • Able to train new patients
  • Willing to do home training as needed
