Responsibilities include:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial.
- Assist with calendaring case deadlines.
- Assist with and draft court filings and preparations in federal courts and Texas state courts.
- Assist with document collection, organization, review, and productions.
- Assist with drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Proofread court briefs and discovery documents.
- Assist with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations.
- Assist with all aspects of trial and arbitration preparations.
- Ability to travel and attend trials and arbitrations.
- Cite-check references and/or caselaw in briefs.
- Prepare various charts and indices.
- Coordinate with external vendors.
- Perform various day-to-day case management tasks.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior paralegals and legal assistants as needed.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proactive and able to handle efficiently handle multiple projects and client matters simultaneously.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior analytical and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- Proficient with Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Experience with eDiscovery Databases (Relativity, LiveNote, etc.).
