Our client, a growing Austin based law firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Real Estate Legal Assistant or Paralegal. The successful candidate will assist with land development entitlements processes including, without limitation, zoning, platting, permitting, economic development, land use planning, due diligence review, and title and survey review, and have a strong understanding of real estate law and transactional procedures as well as the following:

Responsibilities

· Serve as a point of contact for clients, respond to inquiries including those related to pre-closing, closing, and post-closing matters, provide updates, and maintaining positive client relationships.

· Maintenance of tracking system to track payments and closing documents in connection with closings, and follow-up, as necessary, with title companies and other parties to obtain missing funds and/or documentation.

· Prepare, assemble, & transmit closing binders, along with closing documents and related correspondence. Indexing as required.

· Assist with client billing and invoicing processes, tracking billable hours and expenses, and ensuring accurate and timely billing statements are prepared and sent to clients.

· Assist clients and client project teams with the analysis of existing site entitlements and what entitlements will be needed for proposed projects in jurisdictions across the State of Texas.

· Conduct research of properties, including review of zoning, plats, surveys, site development plans, ordinances, land use regulations, and title documents that impact land development.

· Prepare PowerPoint presentations, exhibits, and conduct related research using online City GIS and other tools for presentations at public hearings.

· Prepare and work with local government agencies, elected and appointed officials, and staff members to submit and process permit applications.

· Maintain a billable hour requirement of 100-115 hours per month after the first 90 days in the position.

· Highly organized, with ability to prioritize workflow and manage projects.

· Ability to perform effectively with little or no supervision and within established time limits and on-going deadlines.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Ability to understand and work within municipal, county, and other governmental processes and protocols.

Requirements/Qualifications

· Proven track record that includes a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Real Estate transactions/law.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
