Outside Sales Representative
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (Onsite M-F, standard business hours)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a growing distributor of essential commercial products and equipment, is seeking a driven and energetic Outside Sales Representative to join their team in Baton Rouge. This is a business-to-business (B2B) sales role with a strong focus on building relationships, identifying client needs, and helping customers streamline their product mix to improve operations and reduce costs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a true “hunter,” you’ll be responsible for generating new business and expanding existing accounts. You will work closely with decision-makers across industries to understand their facility needs and offer consultative solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting new business through cold calls, walk-ins, networking events, and referrals
- Making outbound calls to schedule appointments and conduct consultative sales meetings
- Visiting client facilities to assess product usage and recommend improvements or cost-saving alternatives
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Tracking pipeline activity, following up diligently, and maintaining a consistent sales cadence
- Preparing proposals and product recommendations tailored to customer needs
- Working cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery

Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside B2B sales, account manager, business development or related role; facility, janitorial, or maintenance supply experience is a plus
- Driven, motivated, hunter mentality is required.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to identify customer pain points and deliver value-based solutions
- Comfortable navigating CRM systems and basic Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work across all levels of an organization
- Strong follow-up skills and a consistent closer
- Locally established business network preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
