OUTREACH DIRECTOR

Be a part of one of the most if not the most progressive memory care facilities in Ohio.  Our client has a growth opportunity for a forward thinking and progressive OUTREACH DIRECTOR to welcome prospective residents, family members, referral sources and the public in a positive, helpful, and caring manner while demonstrating the facilities mission and philosophy.

If you are turned off by the clinical nature of some facilities, and want to lead a neighborhood rooted in love and care for the whole person, read on.
Testimonials talk about the friendliness and love of the staff, how happy residents are, and the overall experience with the facility.  This is evident in the ongoing high occupancy rate and waiting list for the facility. Families frustrated with other providers have found a home for their loved ones here.

The job?
  • This role focuses on outbound community relations as well as working with internal functions like nursing, dietary, and activities to ensure a positive experience.
  • Represent the community in welcoming prospective residents, family members, referral sources and the public in a positive, helpful, and caring manner demonstrating community mission and philosophy.
  • Attend and lead business and community events where referral sources, prospective residents, care givers and their advisors are in attendance.
  • Leverage traditional and social media to promote the facility and philosophy.  Participate on panels and TV appearances as needed.
  • Initiate and carry out marketing calls and completing inbound marketing presentations by contacting discharge planners, doctors’ offices, senior centers, other healthcare clinics, and other organizations.
  • Conduct community tours, home visits, and assessments offering an overview of the services, lifestyle, convenience and benefits of the community, always following the company’s guidelines and philosophy.
  • Maintain and enhance internal relationships to support their efforts ensuring a positive life experience for families and residents.
  • As part of the Management Team, support planning, budgeting, and other internal administrative and operational responsibilities.

What does it take?

This is a role where alignment of values and passion for the mission is more important than specific experience in such a role. There is a strong support structure for the subject matter expertise, so alignment is most important.
  • A passion for senior care and supporting families and individuals during transition to memory care.
  • Strong marketing background covering a broad range of activities: facility events, community events, presenting at events, participating in video / audio media events, etc.
  • Overseeing / managing the budget and spend for the role.
  • Specific memory care or other senior living background is a plus but not required.
  • Strong leadership aptitude, particularly with regards to collaboration with internal staff, demonstrating and enhancing organizational culture and values.
  • Familiarity with health care requirements and procedures is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills. The ability to relate to residents and their families, and collaborate with department staff and leaders.
  • Basic financial acumen in running an organization. Ability to adhere / manage to budget.
  • Ability to be physically active. This is not a “behind the desk” job.  You will be walking, standing, bending, etc. much of the day. Out in the community, attending events. Taking families on tours.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed in support of activities and events.
  • Solid presentation skills for leading outreach efforts.

Why this one?

It’s easy to understand but hard to put into words. One visit to the community will tell you and make it obvious.  It is unlikely you will ever experience a memory care community with residents that feel fulfilled, a staff that is passionate and dedicated, and approach to memory care that provides a “wow” factor you’ve not experienced.

This is a position where alignment with values and mission win out over experience in the field.  As a matter of fact, in discussion with the Founders, we discussed the possibility of hiring from segments outside of memory care / assisted living where the emphasis is on resident satisfaction and service to others.

This opportunity provides solid competitive salary, commissions, and benefits, and opportunity for growth as additional communities become part of the portfolio.
