Looking for an Operations Planner and Customer Account Rep who  will be responsible for the business relationships with specific customers for an import/ trading business .  You will work within the entire supply chain from samples to dealing with Asian factories, to maintaining appropriate levels of inventory. You will ensure that the needs of the customers are addressed.  You will set the customers’ expectations, communicate customer-specific initiatives within our client company, recommend. and implement business improvements.   This is a heavily hybrid position, but you must  reside close enough to the Irwindale location for on-site meetings.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Responsible for all order management, quotations, supply chain and customer service processes and performance.

·       Ensure on-time delivery to customers for all orders.

·       Manage each order to ensure it finishes on the required date confirmed by customer.

·       Own order entry for customer production orders, sample orders and color matching orders.

·        Create item quotation and freight quotation to send to customers.

·       Ensure samples are sent to customers on a timely basis, as requested.

·       Manage and grow in-house accounts and sales. Supports outside sales team.

·       Lead negotiator with suppliers – cost, price increases and lead time.

 

 Your strengths to be successful include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Business. preferred but not required
  • Lean or Six Sigma qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in supply chain and customer service positions.  Import/trading experience a  must!!
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience with developing and implementing successful solutions for complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.
  • Project Management.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Asian based suppliers.
  • Experience in the plastics and/or packaging industry.
  • Planning and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
