The Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical and electromechanical assemblies used in high-precision CNC grinding and turning machines and support automation integration for those systems.
This role involves full machine design, detailed component development, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.
Design mechanical systems and assemblies for precision CNC grinding and turning machines
Create 3D CAD models, layouts, and detailed drawings for fabricated, machined, and sheet-metal components
Develop mechanical and electromechanical assemblies based on project requirements
Perform interference checks and simulations using 3D CAD software
Evaluate mechanical systems using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid systems
Support integration of automation systems including pneumatics and hydraulics
Provide technical support to customers, vendors, and internal sales teams
Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, ECO/ECN processes, and design revisions
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience designing mechanical or electromechanical assemblies for industrial machinery
Experience with machine tools, automation equipment, or industrial machinery strongly preferred
Strong proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Design experience with castings, weldments, and precision machined components
Sheet metal design experience
Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Familiarity with ECO / ECN design change processes
Experience working in PDM vault environments
Experience maintaining BOMs in ERP systems
