Manufacturing Supervisor
Chicago, IL
Pay: $70,000–$80,000 base + bonus + overtime at 1.5x
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday

Overview

A multi-generational manufacturer with over 100 years of continuous operation is adding a manufacturing supervisor to its team. The facility runs a single shift, has a long-tenured workforce, and continues to invest in equipment and process improvements. The culture is stable, loyalty-driven, and built on consistency.

This position opened due to a supervisor retirement. The focus is on floor presence, team accountability, and keeping production moving efficiently day to day.

What the Job Involves

·       Plan and manage daily production schedules to hit output and delivery targets

·       Oversee machine setups, changeovers, and mid-shift workflow adjustments

·       Allocate labor across production lines to maintain efficiency and throughput

·       Track production metrics and identify areas for improvement in uptime and quality

·       Support troubleshooting alongside the team to minimize unplanned downtime

·       Ensure strong start-of-day readiness and adjust priorities as conditions change

·       Build team flexibility through cross-training initiatives

·       Maintain consistent floor presence and hold the team accountable to safety and performance standards

·       Support overtime operations as needed

What They Need

·       BS, BA, or AAS degree preferred, or equivalent of 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience

·       Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing setting

·       Mechanically inclined, experience with setups and comfortable in a hands-on production environment

·       Experience managing daily schedules, changeovers, and workflow priorities

·       Strong leadership and communication skills

·       Organized, decisive, and comfortable holding people accountable
