The Manufacturing Software Manager will oversee the product roadmap for software solutions
across our design, engineering, and manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring seamless
integration with our ERP system (Epicor), implementing best practices, and leading cross-functional teams to fully leverage the software’s potential. Success in this role requires a blend
of technical expertise, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Internal Optimization:
a. Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to streamline
processes.
b. Ensure internal software solutions align with company goals and industry
standards.
c. Drive internal innovation and continuous improvement for efficiency and
productivity.
2. Software Integration:
a. Develop and manage integration plans from manufacturing design software
solutions into our ERP (Epicor).
b. Test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during software integrations.
c. Monitor software performance, suggest improvements, and ensure optimal
system utilization.
3. Software Efficiency:
a. Evaluate and implement software automation, customizations, and updates for
process improvements.
b. Ensure the best use of software tools across all departments.
c. Develop training programs and provide ongoing support to increase software
adoption and competency.
4. Product Strategy and Roadmap:
a. Streamline front-end processes from estimating to detailing and shop floor
delivery.
b. Create, maintain, and implement the software product roadmap in alignment with
business objectives and industry trends.
c. Stay updated on manufacturing technologies, CAD, and ERP advancements to
drive innovation.
d. Work with internal teams and external vendors to define, prioritize, and
implement product features and enhancements.
e. Evaluate the effectiveness of current software solutions (CAD, SigmaNest,
SolidWorks) and identify opportunities for improvement.
f. Manage software licenses across all entities, ensuring compliance and
availability.
5. Project Management:
a. Lead cross-functional teams in executing software development projects.
b. Develop scope documentation for internal or external development projects,
ensuring alignment with project scopes and fulfillment.
c. Oversee commercialization preparation for software developments and
enhancements.
6. Technical Support & Training:
a. Provide ongoing troubleshooting for software issues and manage technical
additions as required.
b. Develop, maintain, and oversee training and onboarding processes for technical
software usage.
Physical Requirements:
• Walking & Mobility: Frequent walking on the manufacturing floor is required, including
navigating uneven surfaces, operating equipment areas, and ascending/descending
stairs.
• Work Environment: Ability to work in various areas of the manufacturing plant, which
may include exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or
a related field preferred.
o Master’s degree (MBA) or equivalent experience is advantageous.
• Experience:
o 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or software development
roles.
o Extensive experience working with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle) and CAD
software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
o Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing software
projects.
• Skills:
o Strong knowledge of CAD and ERP systems, integration tools, and programming
languages (C#, .NET, Java, SQL).
o Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
o Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with internal
teams and external partners.
o Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum) are a plus
