Position: Manufacturing Engineer or an Automation/Controls Engineer
Overview
A growing precision manufacturing company located about 30 miles west of Manhattan is seeking either a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer or an Automation/Controls Engineer to support CNC machining and plastics manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who thrives on the factory floor and enjoys designing, building, and improving production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design tooling, fixtures, and process layouts from scratch using SolidWorks.
Support daily operations across CNC machining centers and other manufacturing work cells.
Collaborate closely with production staff to troubleshoot and optimize processes.
Contribute to the integration of automation and controls systems to streamline operations.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, throughput, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
SolidWorks proficiency is required.
Experience or familiarity with CNC machining or CNC work centers.
Strong hands-on aptitude and willingness to spend the majority of the day on the production floor.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Compensation & Development
Salary is DOE and comes with comprehensive training in plastics molding and manufacturing systems. The company will train the right engineer on molding processes if they bring the right foundation in design and CNC operations.
