ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee case management in collaboration with attorneys and team members from case inception through trial, settlement, and post-trial activities.
Draft, review, revise, and cite-check legal documents and briefs.
Manage and organize hard copy and electronic case files, including maintaining discovery logs, indices, and document databases.
Assist with document review and develop proficiency in eDiscovery platforms and document review tools.
Prepare and manage document productions, including key-term searches and production sets.
Support deposition and hearing preparation, including gathering exhibits and preparing witness materials.
Perform litigation support tasks such as Bates stamping, preparing spreadsheets and electronic media, hyperlinking PDFs, reviewing dockets, and calendaring deadlines.
Draft and coordinate service of subpoenas and obtain case-related documents from third parties.
Coordinate with litigation support vendors and internal teams.
Monitor pending decisions, conduct legal research, and assist attorneys with case analysis.
Maintain accurate daily billable time entries and meet annual billable hour expectations.
Collaborate with Litigation Support teams for database management using Relativity and related systems.
Maintain reliable attendance and effectively work both onsite and remotely.
Work overtime and travel as required for litigation support.
Provide excellent internal and external customer service while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work and bill as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code § 6450.
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved institution required.
Minimum of five years of paralegal experience in a California law firm or in-house legal department.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Office 365.
Experience with eDiscovery platforms (such as iPro or similar software) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Experience using legal research databases including Westlaw and/or Lexis.
Knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and local filing requirements.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage shifting priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in construction-related legal practice or construction industry matters.
Advanced eDiscovery and litigation support experience.
Prior experience with Trial Director.
Trial support experience.
Familiarity with Relativity, iManage 10, or other document management systems.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Regular attendance in a professional office environment with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use for document preparation and case management.
Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed for case support.
Ability to maintain productivity in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with changing priorities.
